Real Techniques Core Collection Review

Hii Guys, I hope you are all well and are having a great start to the new year. I'm sorry that this blog post has taken so long, I posted on instagram ages ago about it but I've been ill and very busy at school, my blog posts should be more frequent though now.

I have been so excited for posting this review on my blog because I love these brushes so much and if you haven't already heard of them you defiantly need to check them out, once you've finished reading this blog post of course.

These brushes are created by Samantha Chapman from Pixiwoo on YouTube ( you should check out her channel too for amazing tutorials, again of course once you've finished reading this post). These brushes have been around for quite some time I think but I've only just managed to get my hands on them, well at Christmas. Because these brushes were created by a makeup artist I think this makes them so much better because they fully understand what people are looking for in a brush. Real techniques brushes have a wide variety of brushes eye brushes, face brushes, powder brushes and the list goes on.

I must admit when I first found these brushes I was apprehensive because of the price, I know this sounds ridiculous because to be frank for what they are they are not expensive at all. They are such great value and after trying out some mac brushes which are much more expensive I still think I prefer these brushes because they are so much more affordable and just as good.

I have always been told that using good quality brushes will always improve your makeup and help to chat a flawless finish, I like to use a lot of highstreet or drugstore products so I thought that to have good quality brushes would improve these products. Even though there are some products I still like to use my fingers for I think that brushes do have a massive influence on the finish of your makeup.

The brushes which I have are the core collection which really are the face brushes for completion and foundation mainly. So after that very long introduction... Again let's get started on the review!

This set of brushes contains four brushes which are face brushes and include the Buffing Brush, Contour Brush, Foundation Brush and Detailer Brush. If you read a lot of beauty blogs or watch beauty videos on YouTube you probably will of heard of the buffing brush which is mentioned a lot by loads of beauty gurus, this is not sold alone but i like having a whole set so I will be able to try a range of brushes which I wouldn't normally think of buying.

synthetic taklon bristles

The brushes are made of Taklon bristles which are synthetic so all the brushes are cruelty free, something I am very passionate about and I generally try and buy brushes which are all cruelty free. The brushes are so soft and do not shred, so when your applying your makeup you won't have any stray hairs lying around your face. They also stay in good shape after being washed quite a few times.

panoramic case

The packaging which the brushes are in is very convenient  and simple. In this brush collection not all the brushes can stand alone but all the speedster brushes can. The black panoramic case which the brushes come in is very useful because it is a useful brush holder and also protects the brushes when travelling. It keeps all the brushes in place and something which I have only recently discovered is that there are spaces for other brushes as well.

These brushes always deliver a consistent flawless finishes no matter what brush I use and this is because of the texture and shape of the brushes. All the brushes for complexion have a gold handle with a black rubber bit at the end. They have real techniques by Samantha chapman written down one side and on the other side it has the name of the brush near the base.

buffing brush

The buffing brush is defiantly my new favourite brush, when I first got it I wasn't sure if the brush would be all that it was hyped up to be.... Which I discovered that it was. This brush is defiantly all that it is hyped up to be. I use it for everything but especially for buffing in my foundation because of the flawless finish it gives. This brush is amazing and I'm contemplating buying another one of these core collections just so that I can have two because of all the purposes I for it.

foundation brush

I know I just said that I used the buffing brush for foundation but the next brush in this set is the foundation brush. It's designed so you can choose the coverage of your foundation but I don't like using it for this as it's a bit too small and takes me too much time to do my whole face, especially when the buffing brush is so much better at this. Even though this brush isn't good for it's actual job it is perfect for concealer because of it's shape it fits perfectly into the little spaces which the buffing brushes doesn't.

contour brush

The contouring brush I do use for it's correct purpose even though sometimes I feel maybe it's a bit too big for contouring but because I mostly do a light contour this is perfect. If a blush or bronzed is very pigmented I also use this because it distributes the colour very evenly. You could use this for highlighter as well.

detailer brush

I'm not too sure how your supposed to use the detailer brush and this is one brush which I haven't found a pacific use for but it's great for putting eyeshadow under the eye or for generally applying eyeshadow.
